The Gen2 Series reinforced with Kevlar is now available for purchase! The Gen2 is the lightest SST yet and just as strong as the previously released Series 1 and Series 2 Head Guards. Most orders ship within 1 business day.

  • Provides single sided skull coverage for Left Handed Pitchers only. Due to pitching mechanics and follow-through, Left Handed Pitchers are exposed to impact on the left side of the skull.

  • Tested to reduce skull impact force from a baseball by an average of 50%.

  • Made from lightweight and ultra strong Carbon Fiber; total weight, 1.65 ounces.

  • Worn inside the hat, providing protective coverage for the forehead, temples, and sides of the skull to just behind the ear; which are the most vulnerable areas to impact from a line drive.

  • Can be worn by most baseball players without having to use a larger hat size.

  • Secured inside the hat with an iron-on velcro kit (included). Installation takes approximately 5 minutes.

  • Players with fitted hat sizes over size 7, no matter the age, should use the SST Pro X Head Guards, which provide an additional area of protective coverage. Players in leagues age 13+ should also use the SST Pro X Head Guards; built for higher game and potential impact speeds.

Description

To find the correct SST Head Guard size for your player, simply measure the total length of the head, in inches, all the way around the skull. Then, divide that number by 3.14. That will give you your player’s fitted hat size. Once you have your player’s fitted hat size, refer to the following sizing chart:

Up to Size 7- SST Prospect

Size 7 to 7-¼- SST Pro X Small

Size 7-¼ to 7-½- SST Pro X Medium

Size 7-⅝ and above- SST Pro X Large

SST Pro X Guards for Pitchers are designed for optimal energy dispersion in the event of a batted ball impact.  The inside of the SST Head Protection Guard is lined with a high density polyurethane padding for added comfort and protection.

Performance

All SST Products have been put through a battery of impact tests ranging from 60-93 MPH.  Using a headform, triaxial accelerometer, and launcher, we were able to determine a very tangible difference in G Forces when impacted with and without the SST.
